This technique is a good way to capture the feeling and light of a space in a short period of time. Even though it does not look like much up close. The application of paint is something I like looking at with actual paintings beacause you can see how it was done. It is impossible to see this from a photo or a print of a famous painting.

Really cool to see the drawing up close - the technique does a great job of fooling the eye, and it’s almost more interesting zoomed in and abstracted a little. How long does it take to complete a drawing like this? Is it pastel? How large is this drawing?

It took about an hour. I used “Art Chunkies” colored charcoal, I like using it because it is so fast to get down on paper! The drawing is 11″ x 16″.
