Today marks the third week into my project, one week to go. My focus up until the second show is going to be getting the film edited and presentable. What things do you think are the most interesting about what I am doing? I think that there are three main reasons behind this concept:
1. Simply to help motivate myself to do more. I find that I am more inspired when I am around and interacting with other people. It is not nescassarily about me becoming better at landscapes, I am interested in what would happen I dedicated all of my time to the development of art. Frightening it is, not having a source of income but that just gives the work that much more meaning.
2. Having spent so much time on the farm, my social anxiety has really surfaced. The reentering into the city from the farm has been hard for me to deal with. But I have found the more social exposure I have with other people (espeicially new situations) the less anxiety I feel. Bardering my drawings for dinner has been a good way for me to break down my fears of social awkwardness.
3. To bring awareness to how much we let the spending and receiving of money control almost every aspect of our lives. We can think and create without it. The more that we minimize financial importance in our lives the better we will become as human beings. We need to stop spending on excess and starting living within the people and beauty around us.

I think the third aspect is the one that I find the most interesting, although anyone can relate to wanting to be more productive or focused. The third will be best explained by documentary evidence, and presenting that in a show might be difficult and/or perceived as hoity-toity. Conceptual art is most interesting to conceptual artists, I think. It’s the level where you connect with non-artists that I think is most important in a show, which is not to say you should dumb things down, just think about the presentation in that way, perhaps.
