We have been getting some crazy weather here in Iowa. Rain, snow, strong winds and blizzard like conditions. I have not left the house in three days. In the meantime I have been working on a painting of a much warmer place.

Someone here in Des Moines actually commissioned me to do a desert landscape. After doing some research, I was really drawn to the images of Monument Valley in Arizona. I have never been there pesonally but would like to go some day.
It is an oil painting and the dimensions are 13″ x 21″. I have enjoyed using oils. The long drying time really allows for the blending and working of detail. As well as being able to get strong colors.
