Return from the Southwest

I recently returned from my trip through New Mexico, Arizona and Southern Utah. It was pretty amazing! Beautiful landscapes across vast expanses.

Last Wednesday I went through Santa Fe and saw many interesting galleries. On Canyon Road the are over 200 galleries alone. Here are few pictures of work that I saw there.

That first piece is amazing … is it made of steel? It’s hard to get a size of it, but it feels very Southwest in its forms, almost like abstracted mountains designed by Frank Gehry. Someone told me there are a lot of mines in the Southwest, so its doubly referential. Really cool.

What is Sculpture 619? A gallery?
