Day 26

Published on November 19, 2005

The film is really starting to take shape. We have simplified it but I think it will still be interesting. I was at Cafe di Scala today and I found the home brew that you gave me. There were three bottles left. One of them was the one with the starry cap. I was a little worried that they might be a little old but they were excellent. I shared them with friends.

Day 23

Published on November 16, 2005

There is snow on the ground this morning. The sun is shining and the brightness is blinding. I have had dinners with people three nights in a row and I have another one tonight. They have seemed more than happy to cook and hearing their stories and being a guest in there homes has been more than rewarding. Not to mention the food has also been excellent. I am trying to find sponsors to help out with the matting costs for my next show. I am only going to frame four of the my new drawings, I have the wood for the frames but I still need matt board and glass. I am thinking about setting up an account at the art store that people can call in and donate money towards. Any suggestions?

You have to check out this timelapse movie of a guy painting a series of large canvases. Weird music, but a nice timelapse. Getting excited to see your movie, Gabe.

5x5 Pyramid and painting career in progress

This is going better than I thought. Sometimes I think I think too much about things before starting them. I need to just accept that my life as an artist is pretty low-risk. I’m at the point in my life I should just be trying things out instead of agonizing over them. Impulse, man!

This is a wall piece, about 20 in. square, probably 5 inches thick at its thickest point.

I glued it together a little hastily, but I like the roughness. Makes it more interesting.

I can feel the heartburn coming on.
